Our middle school, grades 6-8, is active in academics, leadership opportunities, athletics, extracurricular activities, and most importantly, spiritual development.
Bible is part of our daily curriculum as well as the core subjects of math, language arts, science, and social studies. Students are able to take a variety of elective options ranging from Rocket Class, music, drama, art, technology, foreign language as well as physical education.
Leadership development is extremely important. Students who are involved in the Student Government Association and Chapel Logistics are invited to a yearly leadership retreat. Leadership positions are also found in National Junior Honor Society as well as Praise and Worship Team.
Middle school students are heavily involved in extracurricular activities, with academic teams as well as athletic teams. Academic teams include ACSI Math Olympics, Spelling Bee, Art, and NC Science Olympiad. Middle school athletic teams include boys and girls soccer, basketball, boys baseball and girls softball. Sixth graders may try out for middle school teams as well as JV teams. Seventh and eighth grade athletes may try out for JV and varsity teams.
Our goal in the middle school is to provide opportunities for deeper relationships with Christ. Students are challenged to understand what God requires of our lives as well as to begin defending our faith in order to witness to others. Weekly chapels are provided by guest speakers and include The Village Baptist ministerial team as well as other local ministers, youth pastors, and music ministry pastors. Chapel Logistics class takes part in these weekly chapels as well as the student led praise team.
