Village Dress Code and Expectations

Appearance

The Christian atmosphere at the Academy is reflected in the appearance of the students and faculty.

Cleanliness, neatness, appropriateness, and modesty are important guiding factors in projecting our image. (References: I Timothy 2:9, Philippians 4:8, Ecclesiastes 3:1, and 1 Peter 3:3). It is the parent’s and individual student’s responsibility to ensure that the student is clean, neat, and appropriately attired to attend school. Teachers will monitor student dress each day; however, final judgment and discipline will be referred to the principal. Dress code violations may necessitate a student remaining in the office until a parent brings a change of clothes. The dress code will be in effect when students are on campus during regular school hours, in afterschool-care, and on field trips where the children are representing the Academy in the community.

The school dress code is designed to avoid the fluctuations in fashion and controversy surrounding wearing apparel. VCA standards are not meant to be divisive and are not intended to measure spirituality but rather to serve as a tool in fostering the academic and character development of the students. Our dress code is a means of building distinction and pride in the lives of our students. In order to assist parents and students, the dress code guidelines are as follows:
