I am truly excited about the start of this school year! We have chosen “Greater Things, Building Our Faith, Growing Our Village” as our theme and Ephesians 3:20,21 as our verse for the 2018-19 school year.
The verses say,
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
I recently had the privilege of conducting a new teacher orientation session for our new faculty (see list below). I encouraged them to be trusting fully in God for the coming school year. I hope it is a blessing to you as well.
New Teacher Devotional
As Christians our total dependency needs to be on our Savior and the power He supplies through the Holy Spirit. We all would agree that God is able. He is all powerful and has no limitations. However, this passage encourages us to go beyond He is able to He is able to do. At this level we recognize the activity of God, that He is a God of action. However, an even higher level is He is able to do exceeding abundantly! His creation is a wonderful example of this as we marvel at his provision for all his created beings. But there is still one more level! He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think! At this level we simply cannot comprehend all that God can and will do. Let us claim this level of faith together as we seek to serve and know Him better.

Please be sure to attend First Look on Monday, August 13. First Look is an opportunity for all VCA families to meet together, hear from our Superintendent, meet teachers and become fully prepared for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 15. We will meet in the gym (our Worship Center is still being remodeled) at 6:00 pm. Following a presentation by Mr. Rider, families will have the opportunity to visit the Activity Expo in the Fellowship Hall to familiarize themselves with a variety of school related opportunities or visit their classroom teacher(s). Also, our computer labs will be open with “RenWeb experts” available to help anyone interested in using this valuable on-line tool. The event is expected to end at 7:30 pm. This event is very important and every family is expected to attend.
