SERVICE THROUGH GROUPS

Fellowship, service and academic achievement are highlights of student growth and achievement at Village.  Beginning in middle school, students are given the opportunity to display leadership and hold an office in middle school sga.  From there, opportunities for service multiply.

FBLA

Congratulations to Bridgett Ku on receiving the Levine Scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  Bridgett was awarded a full scholarship with stipend to cover her undergraduate experience.

CHAPEL CLUB

Congratulations to Reagan Carstens on auditioning and being selected for the NC School of the Arts.  Reagan will be leaving us for her senior year but we are incredibly proud and look forward to following her journey.

KEY CLUB

Key Club is the oldest and largest student led service program in the world. As a club based on student leadership, Key Club offers a unique opportunity to learn valuable skills while helping our community. We offer a wide variety of service opportunities to appeal to nearly everyone's interests and skill sets. Previous yearly projects included: serving at the Salvation Army's soup Kitchen, multiple supply drives, helping out at local animal shelters and so much more! Whether you are looking to meet a great group of people or make a difference in the community,

Key Club is the organization for you.

ART CLUB

The purpose of the VCA Art Club is to glorify God through art and is open to all high school students whether they are serious artist or those who just enjoy and appreciate art. The art club meets on the first Thursday of the month during high school lunch and participates in several activities that provide service to the school and community. Currently the Art Club is fundraising to complete a painting project for the Foundation for Hospital Art which provides artwork to give comfort and hope to those who are healing.

HIGH SCHOOL SGA
The High School Student Government Association consists of student representatives from each high school grade level. Representatives are voted on by their peers and serve the student body for the entire school year. The SGA's mission is to grow student leaders through the planning of various school events, communicating with school administrators, serving our school and community and advocating for the student body.

MOCK TRIAL
Mock Trial is a highly competitive and exhilarating activity that is as fun for students as it is beneficial. Mock trial competitors not only develop high level communication skills, but also learn valuable critical thinking and teamwork skills. Students participate in all facets of an actual trial competing as attorneys as well as witness.

For the past seven years, the success of the VCA Knights of Justice has resulted in receiving an invitation to compete at the high school competition at Harvard University.  Student try-outs occur in September and are open to 9th-12th grade.  Try-outs for rising freshman are held in May.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

Village competes in the middle school division of Science Olympiad, an academic competition in which students exercise their interest in science, engineering, technology, and mathematics.

Spanish Club

The Spanish Club of Village Christian Academy will offer exposure to the Spanish speaking world and its culture. Language is a great gift from God to mankind. We not only are able to communicate with others, but God as well. The intent is for it to be educational and fun for its members. It will help look beyond the doors of our own school and hearts to touch the lives of others and be open to diversity coming into our lives.
